Achille Castiglioni, Designer
Born in Milan in 1918, Achille Castiglioni is an internationally acknowledged master of Italian design. During his 52-year career, he designed and collaborated on nearly 150 design objects, from lamps to cameras to car seats. His work is known for combining simplicity with fun, along with close attention to how objects are used in real life.
Inspired by the illusion of an oversized, upside-down hanging light, Taccia Table Lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for FLOS plays with our preconceived perspectives. Designed by the famed duo in 1959, the iconic Taccia has a concave spun aluminum reflector with a matte white finish.
Perfect for a credenza or large end table, its light can be adjusted simply by repositioning the blown glass diffuser. The base is made of extruded aluminum and is available in an anodized matte black, bronze, or silver finish.
