Overview
A statement of modern design, Horizonte Sofa by Marcio Kogan for Minotti defines the living space with its clean, architectural lines. Its modular composition, featuring adaptable configurations and integrated tables, combines elegant simplicity with sophisticated functionality.
Horizonte takes shape from a suspended base, a solid thin line covered in leather, fabric, or both, on which generous volumetric padded elements rest. A rigorous shape, Horizonte is raised seven centimeters off the ground thanks to a recessed plinth in matte black varnished metal that gives the sofa a suspended feeling. Seats, backrests, and armrests are all conceived as large cushions with bold proportions and a strong personality.
It is not only the dimensions that characterize these modules but also their unprecedented softness, capable of maintaining a precise formal aesthetic, despite their welcoming, enveloping effect. Comfort is guaranteed by an innovative technology that uses pocketed springs inserted in variable-density polyurethanes that allow the memory of the shapes to be maintained and the seat to return to its original form, modeling itself to the shape of the user.
The base is made from a clever combination of materials: entirely in leather or fabric or in an original mix of both to create an even more refined and prestigious look. In the fabric version, the two strips are coupled with a zip, hidden by a creased seam, presented as an aesthetic motif that allows for the practical and quick removal of the covering. On the other hand, in the base entirely covered in leather, the covering is lapped: refined and inspired by the world of haute couture, this production technique means that the strips of leather are sewn together by folding back the edges.
For some elements, the base under the upholstered elements juts out from the seat cushion to accommodate a shelf, available in different sizes and configurations. Like a full stop in punctuation, the module is inserted between the seats, enriched by a top attached to the base of the sofa: this does not interrupt the fluidity of the shape, adding a multifunctional top in Dark Brown stained Canaletto walnut, Licorice lacquered ash, Calacatta marble, Grigio Orobico marble, matte Nero Marquina marble, or brushed Belvedere granite.
Materials
- Structure: in plywood of various thicknesses
- The structure is coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam
- Armrests and backrests in plywood with high-rubber-content elastic webbing, covered with breathable heat-bonded polyester quilted fiber laminated to white hypoallergenic cotton fabric
- Inside the quilt is a bag padded with siliconized microfiber – with a low coefficient of friction – which completely conforms to the structure; this very soft, fluffy padding is obtained from certified 100% recycled PET
- All of the materials employed in manufacturing the quilt are hypoallergenic
- The special upholstery on the base can be crafted entirely in fabric, featuring an all-leather central trim element that marks the seam between the two sections, which are joined with a strip of double-stitched leather (a tailoring technique used in fine luggage); or, with a lower section in leather and upper section in fabric, joined by a hidden zipper that allows the upholstery to be removed
- Table-top surfaces: the seating system includes tops attached to the base, available in various sizes and configurations.

- Cushions:
- Padding for backrest cushions in siliconized microfibre with low coefficient of friction, filled in separate channels, with different density, ensures absolute, lasting localization of the fiber. This solution guarantees outstanding comfort and allows optimal distribution of body weight over the support surface
- Seat cushion made of many layers of variable-density, high-resilience polyurethane foam
- A core insert made of steel pocket springs ensures the non-deformability of the seat and greater comfort
- Encased in breathable heat-bonded polyester quilted fiber laminated to white cotton fabric.
