Hiroshima Dining Chair, designed by Naoto Fukasawa, exemplifies Maruni’s mastery of woodworking and minimalist design. Originally conceived in 2010, this chair embodies Fukasawa’s “Without Thought” concept, seamlessly integrating into our lives with a design so intuitive that we use it without even thinking about it.

Known for fusing traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern sensibilities, Maruni’s Hiroshima collection, including this chair, strikes a perfect balance between form and function. The chair’s versatility makes it equally suited for dining rooms, living rooms, or office spaces. The seat, although slim in profile, is designed for maximum comfort, and the removable fabric cover allows for easy maintenance or seasonal changes in decor.

Materials

• Beech or oak wood (sustainably sourced)
• Available with either a natural, matte, or stained finish. Certified low-VOC adhesives and coatings for a sustainable finish.
• The seat is made of a polypropylene foam sheet combined with urethane foam and covered in fabric (removable) or leather (affixed).
• The leg tips can be equipped with optional polyethylene gliders covered in felt or plastic.
