Overview

Bruma Chandelier Sparse 145 by Giopato & Coombes captures the ethereal quality of morning mist suspended in air. Born from a winter day’s stillness, this Italian-made lighting sculpture transforms space through the interplay of presence and absence—each hand-blown Murano glass element seeming to float within an invisible cloud.

The Sparse 145 configuration balances delicate density with openness, creating what designers Cristiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes call “spatial chiaroscuro.” Rather than overwhelming a room, this chandelier defines it, suspending clusters of bubbled pulegoso glass that catch and diffuse light like water droplets in fog. The composition is intentionally restrained, allowing architecture and furnishings to breathe while adding a layer of refined artistry overhead.

Each piece is handcrafted in Treviso, Italy, where Murano glassblowing tradition meets contemporary sculptural vision. The glass spheres, available in crystal pulegoso or smoky grey, are suspended from electroplated aluminum branches in either silver-plated or blackened nickel finishes. The result is a chandelier that feels both weightless and substantial—a statement piece that never demands attention but always rewards it.
