GAN Rugs, a division of the Spanish company, Gandia Blasco, is a modern rug and textiles manufacturer with a global reputation for high-quality handmade floor coverings. GAN was founded in the late 1980s by José Gandia-Blasco as a design-forward home textiles category within the family business. But it wasn’t until the early 2000s, under the direction of Mapi Millet, that the GAN brand took shape.
Over the last three decades, GAN has developed into one of the world’s most exciting rug manufacturers, known for its fresh designs, surprising colorways, and masterful techniques.
GAN rugs and poufs are gently made by hand, piece by piece. Created in India, each rug is “GoodWeave” certified and features tactile, richly detailed hand-woven motifs.
GAN Designers & Artisans
Patricia Urquiola & GAN Women Unit
Collaborations between the experienced artisans of GAN Women Unit who use natural fibers like cotton, linen, jute, silk, and wool, and acclaimed contemporary designers like Patricia Urquiola and Charlotte Lancelot have set the GAN Rugs collection apart.
Patricia Urquiola is perhaps the most emblematic of GAN’s designers. Her Mangas collection of carpets and poufs based on a patchwork of different wool knits revolutionized the rug industry with its three-dimensional shapes and variety of textures. But her most successful collaboration with GAN is by far and away Bandas Space, a collection of interchangeable rugs, ottomans, and pillows.
The value of what is made by hand, slowly, piece by piece — that is what differentiates and defines GAN.
