A family affair, now in its third generation, Flexform is a modern furniture company founded in the Brianza furniture manufacturing district in Northern Italy. In 1959, the Galimberti brothers opened an artisan workshop, called Flexform di Galimberti. It was soon followed by their first showroom where the sofas and armchairs on display found their way into scenic villas overlooking Lake Como and elegant buildings in Milan, including the foyer of the Teatro alla Scala. In the late 60s, their children transformed the workshop into an industrial facility and incorporated it as Flexform S.p.A.
The 1970s marked the moment in which the family opened new markets beyond Italy. They ventured first into German-speaking European countries where there was a significant affinity for the company’s understated, stylish, and comfortable sofas. Soon thereafter, the company ventured overseas, establishing Flexform in the most exclusive furniture stores in the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Today the company has a global presence with Flexform flagship stores and dealers around the world.
Flexform Designers
Antonio Citterio, et al
With a synergic relationship between design and production, Flexform has a long history of collaboration with great designers. Since the 1960s, the company has worked with outstanding talents: Asnago-Vender, Cini Boeri, Joe Colombo, Paolo Nava, Rodolfo Bonetto, and Daniel Libeskind, to name a few. However, it is Antonio Citterio who has contributed the most to the company, translating the brand’s values into objects and coordinating all of its collections, without interruption, for over forty years.
An almost magical distillation of elegance, comfort, and inconspicuous luxury — explore Flexform.
