Overview
Fluid Joinery Side Table by Linde Freya Tangelder for Cassina is less a side table than a small sculpture you can live with — a monolithic form in mouth-blown glass that sits somewhere between artisan craft and industrial production. The Dutch designer builds color and transparency in layers, overlapping gathers of clear and tinted glass to create effects that shift from brilliant and saturated to whisper-soft and nearly weightless. Its unexpected curved, organic silhouette carries real depth and a deliberate unevenness; the sculpted lines of the top flow down the vertical walls, bearing the marks of many parts meeting and fusing into one.
Shaped by hand and designed to be grouped, each piece keeps the small irregularities of its making — the quiet signature of a genuinely one-of-a-kind object.
