Overview

Nuvola Rossa Bookcase, created by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, is formed from a main V-shaped element that combines with horizontal surfaces and diagonal struts. It includes six shelves, all of which are 100cm long. The shelves attach to the frame via hinged joints, allowing the whole unit to be collapsed and packed away when not in use. Thanks to the diagonal elements, the bookshelf also does away with side supports, keeping the design pure and uncluttered.

Materials

  • Solid steamed beech or American walnut plinth
  • Particleboard panel shelves with edges in solid wood and veneered surfaces; medium-density fiberboard (MDF) for the lacquered versions
  • Natural matte finish, semi-matte lacquered in the colors
