Eclectic, Avant-Garde Furnishings

Founded in 1946 and based in Milan, Cappellini has become synonymous with contemporary, avant-garde design and the production of innovative, high-quality furnishings. Enrico Cappellini began the company as a furniture maker specializing in wooden furniture and casegoods, but Cappellini experienced a creative evolution when son Giulio brought his passion for art and design. Today, Cappellini is truly eclectic within the contemporary sector, allowing simplicity to co-exist with flamboyance. The products always possess something of life and light—often offering humor alongside a dynamic solution.

The Cappellini collection is capable of furnishing the whole residential landscape from the living room to the bedroom, as well as commercial spaces such as hotels and restaurants. Several Cappellini pieces have become design icons exhibited in museums throughout the world, including Victoria & Albert Museum, MoMa, and Centre Pompidou.

Cappellini Designers

Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson, et al

Creative director Giulio Cappellini is universally recognized as a talent scout of young designers. Over the years Cappellini has launched some of the world’s greatest designers, including Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson, Marcel Wanders, and brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.

Born in London, Jasper Morrison graduated from the Royal College of Art and opened his first studio in 1986, where he immediately began a long and fruitful collaboration with Cappellini. This fortunate partnership has left its mark in the world of 20th-century design resulting in more than 30 designs in the Cappellini collection, all defined by Morrison’s distinctive minimalist style.
