Tufty-Time Sofa by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia reinvents the heritage of Chesterfield and capitonné styling for contemporary living, offering one of the design world’s most celebrated modular seating systems. Since its debut in 2005, this iconic collection has redefined informal luxury with its distinctive tufted squares joined by signature pleats that create both visual richness and exceptional comfort.
The modular system begins with an ottoman as the foundation, expanding through central, corner, and terminal elements with high or low armrests to create endless configurations—from traditional linear sofas to sophisticated corner arrangements and floating island compositions that provide 360-degree seating solutions. With its generous depth and enveloping proportions, Tufty-Time transforms spaces into intimate gathering places where casual elegance meets uncompromising comfort.
Materials
- Internal Frame: Tubular steel and steel profiles for structural integrity
- Foam System: Bayfit® (Bayer®) flexible cold-shaped polyurethane foam for superior comfort and durability
- Cushion Fill: Down feather and polyester fiber blend in pillow-style back cushions
- Frame Covering: Polyester fiber cover over internal structure
- Upholstery: Removable covers in premium fabrics including cotton, satin, velvet, canvas, and jacquard, or full-grain leather with perforated pleating detail
- Base: Black thermoplastic material feet with adjustable leveling
