Brass, semi-precious stones, and leather cord come together to create spellbinding, luminous works of art.
Using a strict arrangement of semi-precious stones, the Talisman Sconces—a collection of wall lights by Apparatus—recall the fine details found on statues in the ancient city of Persepolis. Agate, jasper, or jade beads are pierced by finely fluted pins, affixing them to a leather-bound brass structure.

Founded in 2012, Apparatus creates bespoke furnishings and lighting that revolt against the corporatization of design. The company’s distinctive catalog is created with sensual materials like marble, suede, horsehair, lacquer, and porcelain combined with patinated brass. Embracing a tradition of studio craftsmanship, each piece is hand-finished and assembled in New York.
