Alias was founded in 1979 as one of the leading Italian manufacturers of contemporary furniture, championing the modernist aesthetic and state-of-the-art technology, with the collaborations of a team of prominent designers including Mario Botta, Riccardo Blumer, Alfredo Häberli, Jasper Morrison and Alberto Meda. The company excels in creating sculptural seating and tables formed of cast and extruded aluminum, as is evident in the Frame series by Alberto Meda. The coveted Compasso d’Oro was awarded in 1998 for the Laleggera chair by Riccardo Blumer, and the Spaghetti chair by Giandomenico Belotti is included in the Permanent Collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
In 2001 Alias USA was established to bring a wide selection of seating, tables and storage for the home and office to the American market.
