Studio Como is proud to be Colorado's most exclusive showroom dedicated to promoting the highest quality contemporary European lines of furniture, kitchens, closets, lighting and rugs. We have compiled a wide selection of design-centric products appropriate for use in a range of project types including residential, contract and hospitality. Everything is displayed in our 7000 square foot showroom located in the historic Ballpark neighborhood in Denver. Please stop in for a tour, an Italian espresso or glass of wine.

Established in 2002 by Tom Dixon and David Begg, Tom Dixon is a British design and manufacturing company of lighting and furniture.  With a recognised commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British furniture industry, the Tom Dixon brand is inspired by the unique heritage, the individualistic innovation and the robust, no nonsense engineering of these small islands. Today the Tom Dixon portfolio consists of over 45 products of lighting and furniture. The brand launches new collections annually at major international venues such as the Milan Furniture Fair, ICFF and 100% Design London.  Studio Como is excited to be showcasing some of Tom Dixon's most popular lighting in the very near future.  Stay tuned for pieces to be on display in our showroom soon.

Arktura

Studio Como is proud to announce that we now carry Arktura, a Los Angeles based design and manufacturing company, born out of the minds of architects. The focus of the company stems from their belief that great design cannot be created without a close integration with the process of manufacture. Thus they focus closely on the integration of design, with the development of new and novel manufacturing technologies. This way design and manufacture take on a new synergies, setting designers free to explore new forms and use materials unseen in the industry. They are focused on cultivating the talent of both emerging and established designers trained in a diverse array of fields; from architecture to automotive design, to deliver extraordinary pieces that set new standards for creativity and innovation.

Open House in Denver's Design North Warehouse District     Thursday October 1st, 4pm-8pm
Design North Warehouse District is a collaboration of design professionals providing a variety of services from architecture, interior design, furniture, photography, video, to much more.  Participating studios will be hosting an open house from 4pm - 8pm Thursday, October 1st.  Come down and tour the various showrooms while enjoying complimentary wine and cheese.

Bocci now at Studio Como

Bocci is a contemporary design house located in Vancouver, Canada with an ecclectic collection of chandeliers, furniture and electrical components.  Bocci is commited to fostering a healthy and stable cooperative of designers, craftspeople, technicians, manufacturers and fine shops, with the goal of creating both practical and striking consumer goods of the highest quality.

Our pick of the month: Moroso's Take a Line for a Walk Chair

Alfredo Haberli explores the basic beauty of the line in his 2003 design for Moroso; Take a Line for a Walk Chair.  He describes how his inspiration came while "reading a book about Paul Klee in which he said that when he was drawing, it was like taking the line for a walk. This expression gave me the final theme to design a lightweight structure for a lounge chair with enormous wings. The upholstered version of this came a year later. To be able to sit in it without being concerned about one's shoes was a small detail in this autonomous structure." See more of this piece along with other Moroso designs at www.moroso.it

B&B Italia's Up Series
In 1969, C&B Italia, (the company from which B&B Italia was born), and Gaetano Pesce joined forces to create the Up Series of seating. When Gaetano Pesce was asked about the original design intent he said, “I was telling a personal story about my notion of women: despite themselves, women have always been prisoners of their own making. Along these lines, I liked the idea of giving this armchair a feminine shape with a ball and chain, the traditional image of the prisoner.” 

These iconic pieces were originally vacuum packed as to allow them to expand once they came into contact with the air.  Production later changed to polyurethane foam upholstered in stretch fabric.

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Up Series.  A special edition Up Chair in Silver has been issued for production during this year only.  Happy Birthday UP!
